Read this analysis of the recent election. What does the title mean? Why did this election turn out the way it did? What does this mean for the 2012 election? Given what happened what advice would give the President to win the next election? To the republicans?

The article presented an overview of the 2010 election. The articles title refers to how in the 2010 election even though the majority of support to democratic ideas did not change, the individuals who voted did , overall more republicans came out to vote versus the democrats who had an extremely low turnout compared to the earlier two years. In general the election turnout was due to the different outcome of voters.Simply more republicans and angry independents came out to vote then the democrats. Considering the democrats are currently in charge , they are the party being blamed for current issues , most importantly the economy. The economic crisis we are currently dealing with seemed to be the biggest influence in the republicans victory. Voters are assessing there decision as it comes , if the party in charge does well they will stay if they fail they will not be in power for long. As for a future 2012 election , it will all come down to the change or the outcome that the republicans are able to produce. The economy conditions will most likely have be a influential point much like in our current election. There is no guarantee that the republicans will stay in power, it's all up to them.

With what is going on now it is obviously said in the election that there needed to be change. Which is exactly what they did. Republicans have taken over much of the government, by having the Republicans take over, will show if it will make a big difference, having a totally different power in charge now. What the article is saying is that if the party starts changing the economy around they will stay in charge if they can't do so, then they will not be in charge long. Basically it came out that Republicans were angry with how the government was handling this economy and it truly shows just how eager they were to change it. So a lot of Democrats did not participate in voting this year, but possibly in the 2012 election it will change once again. As for the president it's all about dispalying your changes to come and having future plans in what you intend to do with these type of issues.

The title summarizes the point of the article. It is saying that the republican party hasn't grown in size, but that more republicans voted in this election. The election turned out the way it did because the republicans were angry and didn't approve of the things democrats were doing while in power. Therefor, republicans had a greater reason to vote because they wanted their ideas to be heard in congress. Democrats now have to encourage their voters to vote in the 2012 election to regain control. The democratic presidential candidate, most likely Obama, will have to work extremely hard to restore voter confidence. meanwhile, republicans will have to prove that they deserve to stay in power in 2012. i think that if the two parties can work together and accomplish something, then they will both be satisfied with the outcome of the election.

The title means that, in elections, voters tend to stick to their beliefs or their party; however, the groups of people that go to vote change with each election. For instance, the party in power may upset some voters that favor another party, which then leads to a revitalized reaction in support of their own party.

The title "Minds dont change much, but voters do" means that people stick to their views, but sometimes choose not to vote, therefor other people with different opinions get their turn to vote.
