Read the following article. What is far-right populism? How is different in Europe than in the United States? To whom does far-right populism appeal too? Is there an equivelant far left populism? What is it? To what extent can far right or far left populism impact mainstream (moderate) politics?

The article was talking about the PVV (Party for Freedom) and they are, in my opinion, the worst party. They are starting unneccesary problems with other countries like how Muslims are a "backward, totalitarian ideology, openly using the term "rotten Moroccans", and calling for banning the Koran would have some trouble accusing anybody else of a "hate-campaign." they seem like the most close minded group of old men and for them to still be around and people voting for them is sad. Their slogan "the future or back to 1939" seems like a bully in high school when they used to pick on the smaller freshman for their lunch money amd say "gimme your lunch money or I will beat you up!" its dumb and pointless. By this party still being around they are causing the US more problems than it needs.

A far-right party will "vaguely alienate moderates" and create a hatred towards them. The PVV party is looking for people to call them racists and compare them to people like Hitler. I think this is ridiculous, and almost childish. It's almost like a cry for attention. I think this party is wasting their time. I honestly don't feel like they'll get as many followers as they will "haters" so to speak.

Demonstrated in the article, far-right populism appears to consist of those who are unhappy with the way the government currently resides, and they tend to favor segregation, and highly acknowledge the superiority and inferiority amongst different groups of people. The article presents two groups of far-right populism. The first group, PPV (Party for Freedom), resides in Europe. The party attracts voters by calling Islam a “backwards, totalitarian, ideology,” even going as far as calling them “rotten Moroccans.” The most unusual appeal to voters is their call for the banning of the Koran. It would seem that this party would not get many votes, but their strategy includes developing a boundary between “ us vs. them,” that when those who did vote for the PPV hear others referring to them as Nazis, will become more loyal towards the party in a defensive manner securing their running position. Alike to the PPV, The Tea Party Nation is another far-right wing party. The Tea Party Nation has very similar tactics to that of the PPV, they try to get people to accuse them of being racist, and in return get a stronger loyal response from adherents and sympathizers. Two Tea Party Nation members even went as far as to dress up as Muslim advocates of the Sharia law in order to catch an NPR executive calling them racist. Although they are very similar, comparing one with the other would deeply offend each party because the PPV would never be against gay marriage, and the Tea Party Nation would never ban the Koran. The far left-wing parties include extreme liberals who desire non-aggression and free markets. The existence of these movements creates trouble for the moderate politics because no moderate party can provide them with a satisfactory retaliation for the injustice of being accused of something, or by being compared to a Nazi.

far right populism is appealing to the republicans, but the interpretation of what far right populism in this article implies that racism is what they believe in and claim false things to make democrats look better

The Far-Right populist group is stuck to the old social orders. An example of this, is that they are all for Americans; whites. They are against all the other races being in America. In the article they stated this "rotten Moroccans."

In the article tea party and a party for freedom talks about how this specific party angers specific ethnicities like Muslims and Moroccans. They feel like they are superior to other ethnicities.i think this party is just wasting time, their not getting any where. And in my opinion i think their just causing more problems for the U.S.

In the article, far right populism is when they try to "alienate moderates" to make an us-against-them dynamic. In Europe, they try to make people compare them to Nazis, as they seem to be "anti-Muslim." in the United States, they try and make what they are doing a public issue by making themselves be called racists which gives an us-against-them dynamic as well. This idea appeals to tea-partiers. Far left populists are extreme liberals. They want free markets and are opposed to aggression. I'm not sure as though it will affect mainstream politics very much because they aren't big enough parties yet.

In the tea party article it shows that they are the most superior ones to other cultures which is not our biggest problem right now for the united states. The far right populism is attractied to racist people and are trying to make the democrats look like bad people.

The tea party is one of the biggest groups of people who basiclly controlled the US for a bit but right now there are people who are trying to make us look bad. People are saying that we are extreme liberals. They want free markets but they are big enough to make these changes.

In the article, The far right populist group is all for americans and are against all other races in america. Wanting to ban the Koran would have some trouble accusing anybody else of a "hate-campaign." Far-right populism is mainly composed of individuals who aren't happy with the government, and believe that certain cultures are inferior to others. The PPV (Party for Freedom), in Europe attracts voters by bad mouthing Islam and even suggesting that the Koran be banned. Many are comparing this group to Nazi's, which only helps "them solidify that divide and anchor their membership". The next group, The Tea Party Nation, originated in the U.S., takes a similar approach as the PPV. The Tea Party Nation is often referred to as “racist”, and like the PPV they feed off of the support of “adherents and sympathizers”. Equivalent far-left populism would appeal to mainly Liberals. I think far right and far left populism would have a negative impact on mainstream politics because their ideas are so extreme and unusual.

Far right populism is a political movement predominant in Europe and the United States, whose main ideology centers around limiting big government and opposing social issues. Though the representative parties in the United States and Europe, The Tea Party and Party for Freedom, disagree on some issues such as gay marriage their strategies in recruiting supporters and overarching ideology is similar. Both parties appeal to white conservatives, most comparable to republicans in their ideas. However, these parties each consider themselves independent from any other, and do differ in organization, leadership, and certain views. On the left end of the political spectrum we find socialist parties such as the Socialist Labour Party, which may be considered as populist in the sense that it represents a percentage of the working class, mostly union workers. However this party does not have the prevalence that the Tea Party possesses. Today, the far right populists are impacting mainstream politics, perhaps more than ever. In the last elections they have made their presence felt at the tolling booths. In addition, they are receiving an almost unreasonable amount of press coverage and attracting the public's attention to their main issues. These parties pose a problem to moderate politics, creating the image that it is "us-against-them" in using their opponents retaliation as leverage, and even appealing to more and more voters.

Far Right Populist is basically the ideas set forth by the Tea Party here and the PVV in Europe, they are obviously far right and anti- government control. They also however, have a distinctive opinion on ideas such as religion, and gay marriage. These similar parties are dirrernt to those of Europe, in my opinion because of thier extremity. The PVV has put an effort towards restricting religion by banning the Koran. However, you dont neccessarily hear about the huge controversies in Europe, I think because for them it is not extremely radical. however in the young, more liberal minds here in America, the actions of these far-right parties are extreme and insulting. Far Right populists I believe interest more liberal former Republicans, so the weathy and educated. With new coming ideas, it allows the people of both America and Europe to see a new spin on politics. As Far as Far Left populists, the only thing I can think of would be a Dictatorship, where everything is moderated and censored by the government. However, with these two extreme ideas circulating, it creates both new and old ideas. On one hand you have the Liberal yet strict ideas from the Tea Party and the PVV and on the other you have your typical, traditional roles in government, the Republicans and the Democrats.

Far Right populism consists of people who dont agree with how the government is currently run and are in favor of segregation. They also believe in the power and authority over other races that are not white. This article talks about two exaples of far right political parties, one being the PVV (Party for Freedom) and The Tea Party. Although the PVV resides in Europe and The Tea Party resides in the United States, they have many qualities in common. They may disagree on some issues such as gay marriage and other organizations and religious view but their stratigies of reeling in members is similar. They use the "us-versus-them" strategy by using their challengers revenge as a way to get to attract more voters. The far-left party which are liberals who is made up of the middle class majority of them are union workers. The far right populists are making their mark on mainstream politics. They are drawing in the press and the society's attention to the recent major issues that are being presented and can really affect how the people are voting.
