Although the general public still hopes that the Democrats and Republicans are willing to come to a compromise on important issues, there are others who are taking a more realistic approach and are aware that compromising seems almost impossible. There is no point in pressuring Democrats and Republicans to work together because it seems like there is no common ground or interest in their ideologies. However, I believe that over the course of time, these two political parties will realize that compromise is necessary in order to fix all economic and social issues in the country or else nothing will get done. If nothing is fixed, this will leave many Americans confused when it comes to the 2012 election as they won't know who to vote for because neither of the parties have positive things going for them that could help them gain support. Currently, the Democrats are the ones who are more in danger of losing power in Congress and even possibly in the 2012 election since people aren't seeing the results they hoped for. Both the jobs of Congress and President Obama will get harder as the public is slowly losing hope and becoming more unsatisfied with the Obama Administration, leading to a conflict between political parties which will eventually favor and bring more support to one party over another.

Compromise will happen between Democratic and Republicans when they realize that it is needed to fix problems like the economy crisis war in the Middle East and even the environmental struggles in the Us and maybe the world. But for now it doesn't seem like that will happen soon, at all. Although the people according to the ABC News/Yahoo! News Poll want them to cooperate they still won' even though it would most likely boost their votes in the next election its just to much of a tradition to have two big parties butting heads, "their can't be two best friend parties," says the imaginary old polotician.

Because many people are disappointed with the current state of the government they want a government that supports their beliefs instead of one compromises between two different beliefs. Although people like the idea of compromise they don't like realizing that it doesn't always serve to benefit them. Compromise is dependent on long term results rather than short term fixes. Therefore as a society today we are constantly wanting immediate results and are frustrated when we don't get what we want when we want it. As a result, in the next 2 years people will begin shifting more to party extremes and support for a government based on compromise will diminish. The democrats will most likely lose support in congress as voting decreases and republican supporters strive to regain the majority

Even dough Compromise between two groups is a good idea people are disagree in with it in that it will foucose on a log term more than a short term and not int the present at all.

Honestly, after reading this article, it makes me wonder how our government has managed to keep on working. It is concentrating so much on keeping power through pleasing the masses, that it cannot get anything really done. And it doesn't help the situation that the masses have become accustomed to instant gratification instead of realizing the truth about government: nothing is done fast. Especially in the US, government works at an amazingly slow pace, mainly because of the two-party democratic system that exists. For one party to be able to get things done, they may have to, no, they are required to compromise, allowing the other party to receive benefits so that they will not shoot the proposition down. it creates a slow and inept governmental process that, again, moves at the pace of a tortoise. So, upon extrapolating from this conclusion, it can be drawn that the job of both the president and congress over the next couple years will become increasingly difficult. The Republicans know that their power is growing while President Obama's approval rating is going down. Thus, they won't even have to compromise. All the Repiblican party has to do is wait out the President, until they have their candidate elected to president. This still is, however, not fact. Also, it is not likely, for if the Republicans do not allow Obama to get anythig done, they sill be called out and will probably see aa drop in support, for people prefer to see progress, no matter how small, rather than no progress. But, there is yet another problem that must be overcome. There is currently a disturbing trend being shown by many people, as they begin to support candidates that call for absolutely no compromise; they say that to compromise if to show weakness and a lack of loyalty to their party, and people are listening. This will further increase the troubles of President Obama and Congress, especially if these radical politicians gain office.

I believe that in order to fix prblems that our country is facing democrats and republicans need to come together and share their different point of views. i also believe though, that it may not happen because democrats and republicans dont think alike and republicans are conservatives and democrats are the opposite. democrats are also at risk of not winning the upcoming election because many say that obama hasnt done anything for our country. since people may not like the idea that nothing is being fixed by our president there is a high chance that compromise wont happen and republicans will get a higher chance in wining following electio or people supporting the republicans.

This article focuses on the fact that people want compromise between Democratic and Republican ideas but are voting in officials who aren't willing to do so. People elect officials into office whom they believe will express their political opinions. However, many of these representatives have disputing ideas, causing debate among officials and progress in the economy and other issues to be slow. When the public hears about this, we automatically jump to the conclusion that the best solution is a compromise between the opposing thoughts. But come election time, voters continue to vote in officials who are less likely to compromise. This reflects the publics fear that voting in someone who is more willing to compromise with the other party may simultaneously sacrifice their ideals and adopt those of the opposing group. It is important for voters to vote in people whom they approve, yet if they vote in highly conservative and highly liberal representatives, then they should not expect immediate results and instant progress. It is impossible to move at a rapid pace with clashing ideas. In the mean time it is also important that the current government try its best to satisfy the needs of the people. So although they may have to compromise some of their ideas, it is better to sacrifice for the good of the country, rather than not sacrifice for the good of a few.

While a current survey showed that a large margin of Americans want members of Congress to work together to solve the nation's problems, the current trend in voter sentiment is to elect candidates who show the most promise to stick to their ideological beliefs. A perfect example is the Tea Party movement, that even aims to vote candidates of the Republican party out of office if they showed too much cooperation with Democrats, calling it treason. The result of this dichotomy is a virtual standoff in congress that will be here to stay. President Obama will face an uphill battle in his last two years in office. Congress will experience standstills similar to California when trying to get any legislation passed, which originated in President Obama's legacy of ramming a healthcare reform bill down peoples' throats that was flawed and a burden for a weakened economy. The ultimate price will be paid by the nation, unless there is a catalyst that will pull the politicians together.
