This article is about how republicans are making more "rules" in the government. for example in Florida they are proposing 18 Abortion restrictions and its said that it will become law. and also there is controversy about gay marriage as well. this can affect us because with more restrictions, we lose more freedom with what to do with our lives.

This article is about how the majority of people elected in 2010 were Republican which is resulting in the Republicans making all of their ideas, into laws. They are taking their 'wishlist' and making it reality. From abortion resrictions to gun rights to polling photo ID laws. The Republicans are making their mark in America while they have the majority to do it.It affects everyone because everyone in the republican states and the United States in general have to abide by these new laws. It would effect my father and brother because they hunt and own guns so the new gun laws effect them. There are many dangers to this. The republicans in office right now are using tunnel vision and are power hungry. They are only thinking about how they can favor their party and beleifs before they are out of office so they are making many drastic changes fast without thinking about erery effect. Thats where the tunnel vision applies. They are making such fast, drastic changes that they arnt thinkning about every detail and giving Americans time to get used to these laws or slowly bringing them up. This is going to cause problems for Republicans and they are going to lose popularity fast. Especially since they are making laws that are involving such controversial issues.

The artice mainly states that with a majority of Republicans in Congress, they are causing for a rapid spark to begin producing bills that will pass alot of their ideologies and beliefs into possible laws. As Jaime basically says, more "rules" resulting in less freedom and more restrictions. As a democratic member stated, "they're power mad," and because they have a majority of their political party in representation, it is easier for their bills to be passed, and eventually leaked towards the public. Abortion restriction laws, gay marraige controversy, gun control, and photo ID's at polling stations are few of the many rules that are trying to be passed by Republicans. Because the minorities can't pick a battle with every bill, alot of what would've been "dead bills," are now passing and the minorities must "choose their battles" on one's they carry more strong feelings towards; aside from that, Republicans can pretty much get anything through, so long as it does not interfere with the freedoms and laws set in the constitution. Republicans may not be thinking thouroughly about the long term affects of many of these bills, therefore posing a threat to America's posterity and their "freedoms." With so many restrictions, we the citizens are initially signing away any say in our future's freedoms if these bills do get voted on and passed. This could create alot of problems for America's future; and everyone knows that with more rules in the game, the more "the players" tend to want to bend them or break them, which won't come off as any good to anyone. Personally, this simply means more restrictions on my future and my family's. I can admit that I agree with the Republican's view on adding polling photo ID laws because it makes sense. How do we know that the person voting, is truly the person they're claiming to be, or if in fact they're stealing someone elses vote? All in all though, these rules simply pose for more restrictions, and if these bills are leaked into the public to be voted upon, hopefully the voters will see that this is a "reach of power" and that by being for it, we will simply be digging ourselves into our own confined space of more rules, regulations, and restrictions, with not much room for freedoms.

This article is mainly about how in the recent elections, Republicans are now triumphing over the Democrats who held most of the power. The implications are that the laws that the Democrats were against are now coming into effect because the Republicans are pushing them through. I'm not quite sure how this will affect my family because we don't have guns, and do not have anything to do with other restrictions and laws being made. However, I can see how a lot of people could be affected by these new laws such as hunters, people living in Republican states, etc. The dangers that can occur are that changes that happen too quickly will not give people time to adjust and also sometin=mes change isn't a good thing.

This article is about the Republicans turning their wish list into actual laws. This is only because of the Republicans' election gains in November. Republicans are expanding gun rights, making abortion restrictions, and pushing polling-station photo ID laws. Due to the right wing shift, more and more restrictions are being imposed across the nation. This is going to shape America's ways. I think that people should be able to carry concealed guns on them, within reason. Due to the fact that crime is everywhere, people need to be able to protect themselves since cops are dissapearing due to state budget cuts. Also, if people want to vote, they will vote, whether ID is required or not. The Republicans' new laws will impact my family because my family is big on guns. Also, the Republicans need to take into account of what the people wanted; what the people elected them for. If Republicans Don't start taking this into account, There will be a very long period before anyone ever thinks about electing another Republican into any office. If Republicans want a Republican president in the future, they need to do the job the American people elected them to do.

The articles is about how recently there is currently more republicans in political positions than there are democrats. There are current 24 legislatures and 29 governor's who are part of the republican party. With such large numbers like this it means that even with a democrat as president the country is being run by mostly republicans. Living in California where our governor and both senators are democrats we might not be as impacted by this; however many state will feel a large impact. With this said I am still very concerned what could happen in other states where the majority of representation is republican.

This article is about a shift of who is in control in Congress, therefore getting to pass whatever they want. They sare making their 'wish list' become a reality by making restrictions on the things that they don't want, such as abortion(from Virginia to Arizona), and passing things they do want, like less gun control( from north to south). People are not happy that they are not doing what they said they would do like cut the ammount of spending the government does, and instead using money to pass the bills they want. They are only passing so many laws because they can right now, they have the power, and in a while they may not, so they are getting down to doing what they want to get done before it is too late for them. They should have thought this out better because they so busy making the nation become conservative, that they are not thing about re-election. Later on if they want to be elected they should have given the people what they wanted and made some changes later on. But since they are making everything how they want it now, later on when they are all kicked out of Congress by the voters, they wont have control anywhere because everyone will be upset with them, and go back to voting for the Democrats to change it all back. They aren't doing these things for the people they are doing them to show theyare in control and not the Democrats. The Democrats would do the same thing probably. Thay are just constantly competing with one another and getting nothing accomplished. It impacts "we the people" because thought we may be given more rights such as having a gun for more protection against others because there are less police forces with the budget cuts, but we lose the right to basically say if we want to care for an unwanted child. Many people cannot afford to take care of children, so they get an abortion, but if they cant do that what do they do? This will just lead to more unemployed people because they cant work and take care of a child, leading only to more problems of which Republicans will only complain more about later, like too many people on welfare and overpopulation. They are not thinking about the consequences of their actions, and it not only affects me and my family, but everyone. These changes can only either be good or bad, not just ok. This could lead to dangers in peoples health, as girls find other ways for abortion, people may end up shooting eachother instead of using guns for protection and the ID's for voting wont stop too many people from voting, because if they are a iminority or not, if they can vote than they will, and it will all come back to be blamed on the Republicans. Not even all of the Republicans agree with what they are all doing, so this wont last for very long, and it wont go too well.

This article is about how the Republican party has dominated powerful political positions this year. They are converting democratic states into republican states and have a record amount of republican support. Now that they have enough support, the republicans are taking advantage of their lead and are trying to convert there ideas into laws; banning abortion, banning gay marriage, increasing gun rights and polling photo ID laws. Many of these ideas have already been converted to laws in several states. The democrat's aren't able to make a comeback because they are trying to pick the best battles to fight, the most important ones, and not try to oppose every idea the republicans have or else their voice will not be as powerful. The republicans should be thinking about how these laws can affect the future for example, teenagers finding other ways to abort or allowing guns to be more acceptable in society. This will effect all families because the Republican's lawsare slowly taking away our freedoms and are potentially making our society more dangerous.

This article talks about the Republicans having more positions in Congress than the Democrats. Because there are more Republicans in Congress this means that they have more power in the country than Democrats even though our President Barack Obama, is a Democrat. Since the Republicans have enough power they are trying to make many of their ideas into laws such as banning gay marriage and increasing gun rights know that they have the chance. In a record number a lot states are now becoming Republican states but i think that we wont be affected as much because our state, California, because of our Governor and both senators.

This article is mainly about how the political elections have been Republicans for the past few years. But the Democrats are the ones that have most of the power. The republicans are affecting many people due to many rights they are affecting but I feel that they are rushing everything and that isnt going to give enough time for people to adjust the change.

the basic idea of this aricle is that the republicans are seemingly in posession of more power than the democrats in legislation. due to the fact that republicans were voted in by the public, this is going to be expected. however, with the "right" influence in gov't, the actions that are being taken are extremely conservative. contraversial topics such as abortion and gay marriage are being handled by a majority of conservative, republican legislatures. this means, even if your family were to be hard-core progressive, and these laws passed, you would have to obey them. another important issue is the taxes. the republican approach is to tax the wealthy at higher rates. with all of the wealth in st helena, wealthy families would most certainly be affected by this.
