Please read about electric cars. What are the incentives to buy electric cars? What are the incentives to produce electric cars? What is the authors view on how the government is trying to help this industry? Why? What do you think?

The incentives to buy electric cars are that they cost less to fuel (since you're not actually fueling them), the luxury of not having to go to the gas station all the time to fill up, and it benefits the environment. The incentive to make the cars is the high demand for them.

The incentives to buy electric cars are the money that a buyer would eventually save on gas, the moral and ethical incentive of reduced CO2 emissions (although the article refutes this). At the same time, electric cars also save the consumer a great deal on parts and servicing, which often seem petty short term but can be costly in the long run. The incentives to produce cars is a huge profit margin, lower CO2 emissions (refuted), and a greener/ overall better PR for the car company. The author states that government spending on subsidies for electric car companies are "daft" and that the petrol car is a much more efficient and overall better choice for broad range car manufacturing. Rather than subsidizing electric cars, the author suggests that the government impose a carbon tax if anything.

The idea of Electric run cars, seems too good to be true. and in many aspects it is. the benefits and costs are like a catch 22, its almost a gamble. personally i believe that each persons perception of electric cars depends on how they look at the total effect. most people want to help the environment and not pay ridiculous amounts for gas, but at the same time they want to do it in a fashion that doesnt greatly effect them, or inconvience them. so in order to get more people to sign on to the electric vehicles, i believe that there is a great need for drastic improvment.

While electric cars may appear to be the super cool new thing, they may not be all that great. I mean, yeah, they can save some of the money you spend on gas, but think of their battery the way you would a cell phone (or any other electronic device) battery. After a while, if not properly charged, the length of the battery life gets shorter and shorter. Wouldn't you think the same would happen to an electric car? Then it would probably cost a large amount of money to replace the battery. While some people will say the car will be a great improvement, I think there could be a very good argument behind why they aren't such a good idea.

The incentives to buy electric cars are the convenience of powering it at home, not having to visit gas stations, and benefiting the environment by cutting emissions.

The incentives to buy an electric car in the view of most people globally is that it would reduce the emission of CO2 into the atmosphere as well as saving money. In this article, both of those arguments are disputed. This world does need an alternative fuel for transportation, but electricity may not be the answer. A person in search for a new car may look further into purchasing an electric car because of its ability to not be dependent on petrol, therefore saving them money in the long run. The manufacturer's incentives for producing a green car is that is in serious demand and it also looks good for the company to be creating an "environmentally-friendly car".

The incentive to purchase an electric car is primarily the fact that you will be saving large amounts of money on gasoline for your trips around town. Along with this cost benefit, you also get to feel very good about yourself, every time you step into your electric car. The incentives to produce these cars are that everyone wants to decrease his/her carbon footprint on our planet. Everyone will be looking to not only reduce greenhouse gas emissions, but also reduce green-House spending(Pun). (Green~Money, House~Everyday costs). The author believes that the government is trying to help this industry thrive by financially assisting the companies that are creating the electric vehicles. However, the author believes that while alternative means of transportation is important, harnessing solar energy will have a much greater impact on the world's carbon emissions. I believe that the Prius, for instance, is extremely sexy, so purchasing a vehicle that does not rely solely on gasoline should be tacit, however, I do agree that there are other matters that take precedence over this matter of vehicles. I believe that we must slowly chip away at these carbon emissions, starting from the top, which would be harnessing solar energy.

The incentives to buy an electric car i believe are purely to save money on gas and it seems to be a good solution to being more "environmentally friendly". I think people should consider that the way you charge the car..or any electric device, the battery could eventually start loosing its power and become less and less reliable, therefore technically it wouldn't be a good reliable car in the long run. Sure it helps prevent CO2 from being released into the atmosphere and it saves you from spending so much on gasoline but i think people should hold off for a while because of all that could still go wrong with it.

Electric cars might be pretty good for the envinorment and you won't have to buy gas, but I don't think many people will buy them. Why? The range it can drive before recharging is pretty ridiculous. 100 miles in the best conditions is almost laughable unless you plan on carrying a charger to work and wherever else you go. And plan on never leaving a city. The incentives for buying it are that its cheaper to drive and you can refuel nearly anywhere, and the cars themselves aren't too pricey as far as cars go. The government is trying to make these cars even cheaper which I think is a good move, since otherwise people just won't buy them as often. The worst thing about electric cars is that unlike gas-powered cars, the technology will change every few months. I'm not sure why the US government would want to get people away from gas cars, because of how important it is to our economy, which we all know is more important than the environment. Britain and other places are subsidizing it because they have less oil and it would be cheaper overall for them to move away from fossil fuels.

I think the government should subsidize and keep giving the company money so they make more of this cars because they save people alot of money and they make us forget about the oil crisis while making electric cars dosent just help people but it also helps the enviroment.

I think is a good idea for the goverment to give money to car companies to keep on making electric cars. And the reason why i think that is because it would help our envinorment if we used electric cars instead of cars that use gasoline and it would also save people alot of money.

they calim that they are easy to drive and one could chargeing an electric car at home for only a few dollars and are "green". they are for city and suburban use which can be a good thing if your only taking short trips. that and it can lose a lot of electricty. they are also expensive to make. i think that this is a good way not only to help the eveirment but to also start decreasing our oil dependancy. But some changes need to be made for the electric car.

Electric cars are a good idea if you want to go green a cut out the United States dependency on foreign oil, but the eclectic cars still have some bugs to work out the same as any new piece of technology. The affordability of the cars has a good range in price but the car is built for short runs nothing like a long trip, and the cars charge ranges between 50-100 miles which isn’t a good thing if you can’t charge your car...The car is a good idea but there is still work to be done with them

I believe that it’s a good to have electric cars but I don’t think it’s still enough for everyone or useful for everyone, even though I know people would love to stop wasting so much money on gas, but even that I don’t think people are willing to change their cars to electric cars there is still a big need of improvement to convince everyone about electric cars.

Incentives of buying an electric car is the price of buying gas is more then electricity, you don't have to go to the gas station all the time to fill up, and it is "enviormentally friendly." The incentives of making the car is the there is a higher demand for them.

Making electric cars is a good idea for some reasons, the incentive would be that it doesn’t depend on gas and people don’t have to waste any more money on gas. This car is supposed to be environmentally friendly because it only uses one tenth of carbon emissions through transportation. But on the other hand the car only runs on electricity so you would have to charge it like any other battery, and batteries always lose power. If the car doesn’t have power then how would it run? To replace the battery of a car would be very pricy. This car would also limit your distance depending on how much the battery is charged. Maybe there needs to be some changes to this car before any more are made.

The electic cars are a good idea because i could really help our inviroment. The thing is that they have to start selling them cheaper because the electic cars now a days are really expensive.

Incentives to buiy an electric car is less expensive thean gas and way more efficient. There are some doenfalls as well, on a rainy day it loses a third of their battery which can cause a really big problem. it is also very time consuming, it takes about eight hours to fully charge the battery and some people clearly do not have the patience and are not able to wait that long to just drive to the local grocery store. Before making more of these so called "green cars" they need to look back and review the cars flaws.

The incentives to buy these electric cars are that they are saving you gas money, and perserving the enviroment by not emitting Co2's into the atmosphere. However they do cost a lot of money to produce them, therefore makeing them a high price to buy. Scince many people are environmentally friendly and want to help make the world "green" the demand for these types of cars would be high.

The incentives to buy electric cars are the gas prices. A bad incentive is the fact that you have to pay a higher electirc bill. The incentives for making electric cars right now is that people don't realize or know how much money they will be spending on electricity and they just see how much the gas prices are going up and they will blindly just go trade one bill for another. I'm not completely sure how much the electricity would go up because of charging a car battery, but i know it isn't free and that they need to pay it instead of gas. Also a negative incentive is that you couldn't make really long trips with electric cars because you don't have that good of a battery and that much energy and you can't just randomly start charging your car at any place you stop at.

the benifits of a electric car will be benificial to the enviorment wich will atualy effect econimic outcomes on many other things. no more shall people get angry with prices of gas XD now they just plug their car in and off with them X3

It's obvious that the incentive to buy an electric vehicle is to save money on fuel since gas prices are so high, but there are other factors that play a part as well. It's all a mixture of oil prices, climate change, and fears about engergy security. The incentives to produce these vehicles are similar to those of the consumers because car companies know that they're highly desired and will sell. The author believes that the only way to cut greenhouse-gas emissions is to impose a carbon tax rather than to subsidize.

the incentive of buying an eletric car is that because it uses power instead of fuel so then you wont have to go to the gas station all the time. car companies will be prducing alot of these cars because alot of people are going to buy them so that they can save money. they way for him to cut on greenhouse gases is to try and pass a tax on carbon rather then subsidize.

Yeah some people think electric cars are great because they save gas and "help the eco by not buying foreign oil." True but not true. Rechargeable batery vehicles need to drain completly to be at optimum potential. I think they should stay with gas and elecric cars beacause those batteries have to be pretty big to power that vehicle and then buying another battery from a dealership will cost and arm a leg and then some.

Those electric cars are a waste of money. If they actually want to make these cars then go for it , you know but they seriously need to work alot harder to make more energy to power theses electric cars so that they can work good.

Electric cars are a waste of money and energy they will need to work alot harder to make more energy to power these electric vehicles because they are so expensive to produce, that they will still be risk trying to get rid of CO2 emissions. even the hybrid prius is not THAT economically friendly it releases nickel into the atmosphere and adding to the global warming issue. also i want to know how people who buy these cars will be able to charge theit cars on long trips or car rides.

Peoples incentive to buy electric cars is to reduce greenhouse gasses. They are efficient for short trips around town but have yet to become advanced and efficient enough to be an all around better vehicle than one that relies on petrol. There is an incentive for companies to produce this because we are running out of oil and it is expensive, also people are becoming more concerned about the environment. The author states that the government is giving tax breaks to those who purchase electric cars as an incentive for the public to invest in the industry because with enough funds they could produce a better vehicle. I think its good that there are people trying to find a solution to our oil crisis but electric cars are far from it, but like I said I encourage the effort.

The incentive of buying an electric is that its an eassy way to reduce bad gasses and try to reduce global warming and it will be easier to charge. This electric cars can be very usefully if you live in small town beacause evrything is close and electric cars tend to dairn in powere faster than if you were to use a gas ifficent car and gas running on gas because the go a further distance than electric cars.

The incentives for buying these new hybrid car is a mix of oil prices and new ideas of how to help our environment. Also, the cars can be charged up at your home instead of having to go to a gas station. The incentive behind producing the cars is that they reduce greenhouse-gas emissions. The author thinks that the hybrid cars are a bad idea and says that they don't cut very many CO2 emissions. The author also thinks that a carbon tax would be a good way to get the cars off to a better start instead of aving subsidies that taxpayers have to pay for. I personally think that the author is correct. Why would we waste a ton of money on something that doesn't do much for us? I think that it would be smarter for Britain to swich to solar cells for that much money and cut more emissions than the hybrid cars. I also think that that would be a good idea for America as well.

The incentive for buying electric cars is because they are “zero emission vehicles” they don’t use gas at all, you can plug it in and charge it in your home, but your home lets out emissions into the environment as well, therefore they’re not as green as you think they are with only 20% less emissions emitted. The incentive for producing electric cars is that it doesn't emit CO2, harming the ozone. The plastic industry is a good example for this. An on coming conflict--my question is, what is this industry going to do with all the used batteries, pollute the soil?

There are a couple incentives for buying electric cars. One being as the price of gas increases, the option of a less expensive alternative power/car will become more popular. As well as the want to help the enviroment and the reliance of a renewable energy. As the demand and incentives for consumers to purchase electric cars grow, as will the incentive for producing the car.

the best incentive for buying a electric car is better for the enviroment and better gas milages then of course money. but what do you do with all the bad batterys. so it goes either way. in my perspective lower the price of the car and you will see more on the road. i still love my gas Guzzlers.

i think that the incentives to buy an electric car are that you would save money and that wouldnt always have to be worrying about having to go to the gas station and put gas. having this type of car would help you economicaly and it would benefit you in your budget. This type of car would also help the enviorment and it wouldnt polute as much as other types of cars. For people to buy this types of cars the pricing on them shouldnt be too high so people of any class could buy them not only the people who are wealthy.
