According to the Reality Check website, I need to make $54,120 a year. To sustain my lifestyle, it says that I should be a film editor with a bachelor's degree or higher. I didn't go back and re-do it because i felt that it was fairly reasonable, on the account of it said the average wage for a film editor was close to 80,000 a year. Plus I put 10% of my salary into savings.

After going through the process, I found that I need 53,220.00 to live the life I'd like to. But with the career I'd like to pursue, a college professor in English or French or History, I can make enough to live like I'd like to. I'm planning to get at least a masters in education and it said that with that, I can earn at least 53,220.00. I did not go back and change any aspects of my future because I felt that this was the most realistic, although considering it now, it would be interesting to compare cost of living between cities. I picked San Luis Obsipo and I assume if I compared it to L.A. or San Diego, prices may rise. I was shocked originally by how much I needed to earn but once I looked at the average salary for history professors, I felt reassure and more comfortable with the amount. As well as I know that I picked these aspects by considering price and that I know I'd like to overspend, as well as being realistic with how I would live. I learned that although the price of living is relatively high, the salaries are high enough to cover the expenses. Invisible hand at work, right? Because if companies didn't pay enough for a comfortable life style, their employees might strike leaving them with a bigger problem. At the same time, the price of a comfortable lifestyle does not get too high, because otherwise people wouldn't buy the homes or cars if too expensive.

My yearly expenses came out to be $39,915.00. Although I am fairly certain that the answers that I gave are accurate, I tried again and got a better car. My expenses then came out to $50,370.00 a year. Both of the calculations were done with all other variables unchanging, with 10% going to savings. I asserted that I was planning on getting a bachelor's degree or higher and becoming a nuclear engineer. The average annual salary for a nuclear engineer in California is $103,160.00, so it looks like I'm going to be putting more into savings than I had originally planned for. I guess my upkeep is cheaper than I had originally thought, and that I am a better budgeter than I had originally thought. At the same time, I feel that this site does not take into consideration that the average of all these expenses across the grid may be accurate but in no way precise. The payment range for a nuclear engineer is between $68,260.00 and $139,450.00, which is a rather large error bar if you put it in perspective, which leads me to believe that my annual salary would have probably been different had my location been factored in. Given that I live in Los Angeles, it would cost more for my personal upkeep, as well as the fact that a nuclear engineer is a dangerous job, not just for the employee but also for the people in the area surrounding where that employee works. Because the city of Los Angeles alone has a population of over 1 million people, there are numerous people being put in danger, thus the need for a more motivated and precise nuclear engineer, which in turn would likely lead to a higher salary.

I would need to make $42,570.00 a year in order to sustain my life stly. Even though i answered accuratly I don't think i will be using all that money a month it all depends what happens that month. But it does mean i will need a bachlors degree or higher. A pharmacist makes about $86,091.00 and a monthly income would be a $5,165.52 which is good anfd leaves a good amout left over, i htink it is better to under spend that over spend. one thing i did change was eating at home instead of eating out.

I would have my annual salary being $61,605 a year. I answered with what i thought i would use, but i definitely think i would not be spending that much. I would porbably not dine out so much and get a cheaper apartment. I would also not buy as much clothes. A pharmacist makes over $80,000 and i would put at least 10% in my savings.

I went through the Reality Check, and the choices for my lifestyle came around to $48,500 a year with a Bachelors Degree. I changed my first choice of living situation from an apartment to a house. In light of today's bad economy this profession I selected probably does not make the salary stated, however I was happy to learn that this profession I chose makes more than half the money I need.

According to the Reality Check site, my annual expenses were $29,352, I need an annual salary of $36,690. Its kind of low compared to others, which is pretty sweet. Most of what I chose was only the "essentials," and a 10% savings. For the most part, I only got what was necessary or what I would either have a hard time living without or be really bored without. The game plan is to save as much as possible, then spend it all on an awesome house or beachfront property that will be much nicer than my average apartment. The jobs that were suggested were Computer Programmer and things similar to that, and on other topic Nuclear Engineer came up. That's pretty interesting...

According to the Reality Check site, I need an annual salary of $55,965 to pay for my lifestyle. The suggested jobs in the medical field (with a bachelors or higher) were pretty varying, including surgeons, pharmacists, and general practitioners. This includes my career path, so I'm happy with my choices. I went back and took stuff like "luxury car" off of my budget because the first estimate was in the 70k zone ;) Now it's a little more realistic. I've learned that if I stick to my guns, keep my spending under control, and don't slip up anywhere along the line, I can reasonably have my dream life (for the mostpart).

A salary I would need to earn in order to accommodate with my life style would be $53,250. My choices were accurate to the life I actually plan to live. I was unsure about which category to choose for my occupation but my highest level of schooling was a Bachelors degree which offered a substantial amount of job opportunities ranging from a Biochemist to teaching at higher levels. I did not go back and change any of my answers because the results seemed adequate. From this, I learned that schooling is very important in order to meet my standards. I do feel that if i was actually living and experiencing the decisions i made through this blog that things would change but that all depends on the circumstance. What i did learn is that it's very expensive to live in California without a college degree. That I pretty much already knew, but now there were numbers attached which helped it be put into a better perspective. I enjoyed this interactive blog.

I found that i would need to make 39,705 to support my lifestyle. I went back and did it again because i didnt give my self transportation or insuranced but then i realized that it wouild be good to have those things. Education wise a bachelors degree seemed to be a good thing to have. this was very useful and a good way for me to see how i would have to manage my life financially.

As I roamed the financial world, I realized, I like stuff, lots of it too. In order to maintain my fantasy lifestyle, I needed 88,000 dollars per year after taxes had slapped me in the face. I doubted that I could attain this much money doing something I enjoyed, so I chose the legal profession. Becoming a lawyer would require me to pass the undergraduate level of college, achieve a masters degree, and advance to a law school. Supposing I chose a brand name law school, this in turn would also cost a substantial sum which would render me penniless for quite some time. I changed nothing, I like having a designer couch in every room, and having a closet full of beautiful hand crafted silk suits. I learned that I truly take for granted the things I don't think twice about purchasing every single day, and if i want a new BMW and an apartment in Beverly Hills, I am going to be eating top ramen for breakfast, lunch and dinner, for a very loonggg time. Fortunately, I love top ramen almost as much as I love DSL.
